Principal's Message

Mr. Manuel G. Escalante, Principal

Dear Parent,

As we begin our 5th Six Weeks, we continue with our assessments. Currently, we are administering The Texas English Proficiency Assessment System (TELPAS) testing that is given to our limited English proficient (LEP) students in grades 2nd to 5th. Our testing window for this test ends on April 6.

Teachers are also benchmark testing students to keep abreast of their progress and to find out in what skills the students need more help in order to help them successfully master the STAAR Assessments.

We also have STAAR testing for students in grades 3rd to 5th in April and May; therefore, we are asking for your help.  We need our students at school everyday and on time.  Also, please refrain from picking up your children early.  It is of outmost importance that your child remains in school.

On another note, the Flu season is still upon us. Let’s be proactive and help deter our students from getting sick by reminding them of the following:

Ø Wash your hands often with soap and water.

Ø If coughing or sneezing, cover your nose and mouth.

Ø Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.

Our parent liaison, Mrs. Rodriguez has been having parenting classes and the HEB 3 program. We thank our parents that have been attending these activities and volunteering their time helping our teachers. Together we work for the success of our students.

If you would like to be a parent volunteer, don’t hesitate to sign up. Please come see Mrs. Rodriguez, our parent liaison.

Warm regards,

--Manuel G. Escalante, Principal
